DIY 3D Printer

I designed and developed my own DIY 3D printer, made out of an old office copying machine (Xerox). I disassembled the printer and utilized the scanner as a base. Using other components (e.g. stepper motors, end-stops, and pulleys) collected from the printer, the other axes where added. Some electronics were purchased as required to host the 3D printing firmware, control the steppers, and extrude PLA/ABS. While the printing quality still has some room for improvement, the project has been a valuable learning experience. Not only was I required to overcome several mechanical and electrical challenges, I also learned a lot about general FDM printing and 3D printer's setup, calibration, and maintenance.
